I am a mom of 2 young lovely girls, a wife to a kind man, a networker and connector, and a woman who believes in people's potential to create a kinder world.

In May of 2015, just 6 months after I was diagnosed with Adrenal Fatigue, I laid in bed with my girls, then ages 5 and 7, feeling gratitude for all the ways the power of kindness had supported my quick recovery.  While kindness had always been a value of mine, there were new lessons to be learned about receiving kindness and practicing it towards myself.  Kindness at this time looked like delivered meals, receiving help with household tasks, surprise gifts at my doorstep, intentionally connecting often with self and others, taking up painting, daily walks in nature, slowing down and resting, learning to say no, being more present with my family, and having compassion for my humanness.  Kindness had changed my life.

I began to dream up a large scale way to share the value of kindness, compassion, connection, and community and inspire large scale change in the system we live in.  “What if we could do all of this through a festival!?”  I envisioned creating The Kind Fest as the platform for artists, leaders, grassroots, businesses, organizations, and volunteers to help teach, inspire, and empower people to create a kinder world both inside and outside of themselves.

So in May of 2015, I bought the domain name and took baby steps towards my dream. In August of 2017 we held the very first Kind Fest.  My hope is that The Kind Fest becomes an annual community event that we can all look forward to being a part of in one way or another.

Volunteers of a kinder world

We had over 75 volunteers help support the first Kind Fest in 2017!  They came with enthusiasm, energy, gratitude, and so much kindness!  We couldn't have made this event happen without their hard work and support!  Thank you so much!  If you are interested in volunteering for the 2018 festivals, please click here.
